Description: The vast majority of newly formed businesses fail to gain traction. So many businesses fail and so many new products die on the “store shelf”, or even worse never make it to the shelf.

Successful Entrepreneurs all agree: Knowing your customer is KEY!

 Ossining Innovates! newest bootcamp will coach entrepreneurs and hopefuls in a proven and widely used process of observing and talking to people to get real reliable information to drive key decisions.

This bootcamp will help you identify, validate, and connect with your target customers, to help you create solutions your customers actually CARE about.

Program Outcomes:

Participants will…

  • Become skilled in a data-based approach to learn what challenges their customers face as they progress on their daily journey,

  • Learn key activities involved in designing and operating any business.

  • Learn how to use facts and evidence to drive decisions in their business or non-profit venture.

  • Practice or develop their presentation skills as well as increase professionalism.

  • Receive personalized attention and coaching as they evaluate and applying their learning.  

  • Learn that applying these discovery skills will provide them with information to test their business ideas, to adjust early in the process, and reduce the risk of spending time and money on an idea that might have been doomed from the start. In simple terms, applying these skills when they’re starting their businesses as well as when they’re running a growing or mature business, will eliminate or significantly reduce the role of “luck” in their business planning.  

Participants will graduate with:

  • Up to 30 customers interviewed, with detailed notes on their observations and customer interactions.

  • A method for drawing actionable insights from data to support your business decisions.

  • A deeper understanding of the customer’s view of what’s impeding or getting in the way of them reaching their goals.

  • A target customer, problem, and initial solution identified.

  • Most customer discovery bootcamp graduates will be ready for our next Inclusive Accelerator!

  • Participants will be accepted in a rolling basis.

Bootcamp Schedule:

This is a 6-week bootcamp offered outside the usual 9-5 schedule. Classes are held via zoom on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with a few potential in person sessions to practice new skills. Participants should expect to devote approximately 10 hours week including class time.
